HP webOS software to make public in September

HP announced in December that he planned to make a webOS open source, meaning that the developer anywhere can play around with it because they want to and will be available for anyone to use free of charge.

Palo Alto, California-based HP acquired webOS software as part of a $ 1.2 billion purchase of Palm in 2010 but later abandoned a plan to make smartphone and t computer platforms.

“By contributing webOS open source community, HP released the creativity of hardware and software developers to build a new generation of applications and devices,” HP said in a statement.

The computer maker said it would make the source code of a webOS is available under open source license “in its entirety in September.”
